What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?

This is one of the most common pieces of advice.

You are mature enough to go on your own and immature enough to learn from others.

In your 20’s, You don’t have family obligations and are carefree. Use this time to meet different people, live with them, and understand their thoughts and culture; go backpacking and learn how to survive independently in a new place.

Travel is a great provider of knowledge. Not from Hilton to Hilton, but from city to city and country to country, staying, where possible, with local families. We learn through struggling. Push yourself to struggle with language, customs, foods, and arts.

There are a hell lot of places to see in the world and crazy kinds of stuff to witness. Don’t limit yourself to one place and the same kind of people. The world has a lot to offer from mountains to beaches, from skydiving to scuba diving, from bungee jumping to base jumping, from random villages to well-planned cities, from dark tourism to cultural tourism, from  trekking to rafting, from mountain biking to power boating, from pub parties to rave parties, from skiing to wind Surfing and list goes on.

Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow!

PS: If you have strict parents and they are not allowing you for solo trips or trips with your friend. Convince your parents by giving your 110% efforts. And still, your parents don’t agree, take them with you for one trip  (the kind of place you would love to travel ) and take all the responsibility of the trip from deciding routes to accommodation and let them see the world through your eyes, then I’m absolutely sure, for the next solo trip they will allow you.

Why Are boys Still Ashamed To Talk About Periods?

Whenever it comes to a girl, boys are so ashamed to talk about periods, tampons, pads and intimate wash products.

Guys often feel weird, uncomfortable, or even clueless about the menstrual cycle, but honestly dude, You need to know about periods, too. They don’t need to be as knowledgeable as women, necessarily, but they wouldn’t be in this world if it weren’t for periods, so why the heck should they blush at the sight of a pad or tampon?

While going to the washroom for changing, girls often hide their pads. Also while asking/giving someone for tampon/pad, they make sure no one is looking at them as if they are handling drugs.

Why boys get freaked out if you ask them to pass a pad? Why should women feel awkward if a tampon or pad falls out of their bag in public?

I think a lot of the embarrassment or discomfort women feel surrounding their period is that society deems it socially unacceptable to talk about it out loud.

Periods are messy. Periods are stinky. Periods are sometimes painful. It means the body is working well. It means that you can have a kid one day if you want to. and I think that’s pretty rad.

I hope Akshay Kumar’s movie ‘Padman’ shows a good impact on Indian Mentality.



Mental Health

The term ‘mental health’ is frequently misunderstood.

Mental health is a state of mental well being. ‘Mental health’ is often used as a substitute for mental health conditions – such as depression, anxiety conditions, schizophrenia, and others.

A clear distinction is often made between ‘€mind’€ and ‘˜body’. But Poor physical health can lead to an increased risk of developing mental health problems. Similarly, poor mental health can negatively impact on physical health.The mental health condition can cause premature death from Suicide.

Whatever Mental health issue you are dealing with- feeling crap? Stressed out? being teased? getting depressed? can’t sleep? bored? anxious? scared? Relationship hassles? feeling moody? just freaking out? frustrated? sad? nervous? Being bullied? The parent? getting a job? money? not eating? The future? What to do with my life?

These are the common experience we all feel, rather than ignoring them and getting deep into it, seek help, talk about it.

Taking action is the best way to tackle anxiety and depression. The sooner you seek support, the closer you will be to recovery.

There are lots of positive things you can do and lots of people who can support you. Make an appointment with psychiatrist, psychologist (Going to psychologist/psychiatrist is same as visiting a doctor for physical health), youth counselors, talk to sister/ brother, parents, school counselor and if in a first place you are not comfortable talking in person, then call your friend and speak out.

40’s a new 20!

Forty, it seems, it’s the new 20.

The Dreamer mothers who chose family over their career found themselves at a crossroad that many women can empathize with; with their children away, for studies and career, mothers are ruling an empty nest. For those mothers who made conscious decision to step back and start all over again as it seems, it’s the new 20.

She raised her children well to stand on their feet, now it’s her to live up to her dreams.

Let’s begin your 40’s with the same enthusiasm, passion, and madness for dreams. It can be anything like passion for learning a dance form or to be a Zumba instructor. It may be the dream to be a writer or a hair stylist or an artist. It also can be a simple dream of getting your body as fit as 20’s.  If you still have the same passion then it’s never late to fulfill your dream and prepare yourself for making those efforts. Make your 40’s as happening as you wanted your 20’s to be.

An esteemed friend is raising funds for his dream project.We all have dreams, some are small, some are big but we dream. Let’s support each other in fulfilling those.

This project is basically to bring Cabin culture in India and to create small beautiful cabins away from the crowded where the traveler from not only India but all over the world can come and not only to see but live local culture and their way of life.

The Idea is to start India’s first Eco Backpacking Hostel chain with the name ‘Cabin In Woods’. 

The specialty of these kind Hostels is that they are In the woods away from the crowded places, In the lap of nature, with Zero carbon Footprint where everything is organic, solar power equipped with all facilities and where you Pay as you please.

Maker’s Asylum- A community Maker’s place

I recently visited this community maker’s place in Marol, Mumbai where you can give life to your ideas. I got to know about it through the web. Trust me, It is all over the internet.

Its a medium size hall with 6,000 sq.ft. of space, wifi, work tables, rooftop, a pantry with a fridge full of drinks and some kickass labs for work and fun.

According to the Maker’s Asylum’s website, “Maker’s Asylum is a community makerspace with two locations, Mumbai and Delhi, India. For hardware entrepreneurs, it’s easy access to tools, technology, and talent so they can prototype their ideas. For problem solvers, it’s a space to bump ideas with other like and unlike-minded folks who share your passion. For hobbyists, it’s a place to play. Don’t let those ideas die on the drawing board. Make it real.

They also have few training programmes for beginners and machine handling sessions. Whoever you are a Software engineer, Architecture, Interior designer, fashion/jewelry designer or scientist. This is the perfect place for your offbeat ideas.

Have you heard about Dog’s Hostel?

Pawfect Life, a boarding hostel where you can leave your dogs safe and sound when you’re out on vacation? Well, they’ve now opened a separate section – a dog petting center, where they have resident puppies and guest puppies. All you need to do? Surrender to their love.

They have recently come up with the concept of petting hours. Visitors can visit the center between 12noon and 5pm and spend an hour with the friendly canines by paying Rs200.

Fitness is a journey: Happy Yogi

Exactly a year ago, I started exercising. I started with the Aerobics classes then gyming for a while and then I jumped to yoga. In this journey of one year, I have seen a tremendous progress in me.I have become more healthy, Strong, build pretty good metabolism, also my concentration level has increased a lot plus my body is more tone.

They say Practice makes a man perfect.I say progress makes a man happy.

While jumping from Aerobics to gyming to yoga, I realized Yoga Practice helped me the most. After practicing Yoga every time I feel so good and confident. I never feel stressed or tired after Yoga. The more you sweat better you feel.

The science of Yoga imbibes the complete essence of the Way of Life. While practicing Yoga once you get better at some asana there is inner urge to get best at it and try something more difficult than previous one.

Whatever You do in your life, How busy you are, always make some time for your fitness. Let it be any kind of exercise, sports, Hiking, Cycling or anything. Because Fitness is as important as your need for food and water. And Consistency is a key If you start your fitness journey today, be a part of it until the last day.
